About The Poster: As with all nautical ephemera, the boat featured in this piece of advertising (which would have been used as a travel agents display or counter card tool in Europe - as it was printed in Italy) is able to be traced from the moment the ship was built (in Philadelphia, in 1926), until the moment she was scuttled, in Greece in 1977. Fifty years of service, as a passenger ship under the flags of many nations - both before and after WWII, as a military ship during the Second World War, and with a fascinating history of travel through some of the most interesting and scenic waterways of the world. (Read fascinating details about the ship at http://www.ssmaritime.com/malolo-matsonia.html) A delightful advertising piece from the Art Deco Period, Italian.
