About The Poster: A fabulous travel poster advertising the French Riviera, designed by Herve Baille.
The SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer français; "French National Railway Corporation"), is France's national state-owned railway company. Begun in 1938, it used posters from its inception to advertise the multitude of destinations which were served by its rail-lines. This poster was produced for the French Tourist Board, and the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Tourism. This poster is one of roughly 30 which we have just received from a private collection. The poster measures 25.5"x 39", is linen backed, and in great condition!
