About The Poster: A lovely old sewing parton kit by Marti Editions, cover designed by Seraph. Recently purchased in Barcelona, where the company was located at Paseo De Gracia, 42. Created in 1896, Marti (now sistema marti) became a sewing institute specializing in the cutting of fabrics systems. Carme Marti, the company's founder, was the inventor of the sewing patron. According to her biography, she dreamed up the idea of creating a sewing partons system at only 7 years old, published her first book on the subject at age 18 and four years later developed the patent into Marti editions. (http://www.sistemamarti.net/p/historia.html) The booklet is in good condition although some foxing is evident (see pictures). We have smaller booklets for Marti patrons, please see them in the children's collection. More photos can be provided on request. We think that any seamstress would be delighted and honoured to posess an original Marti parton.
