About The Poster: A simple and stunning poster for a solo exhibition by Marcel Barbeau held at the Galerie du Siècle in Montreal. Barbeau showed at this gallery once in 1965 and once in 1967. Barbeau is an icon of French Canadian art. He was named Officer of the Order of Canada and was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts in Canada. His most notable contribution to Canadian art history to date is arguably his participation in the Autmatistes Group and contribution to the significant Refus Global Manifesto. Barbeau is still active today and shares his time between his homes in Paris and Montreal.
