About The Poster:

A wonderful vintage advertisement for Michelin Tires (both bicycles and cars!), a classic in advertisement history!

Michelin is a tire manufacturer based in Clermont-Ferrand in France. It is one of the three largest tire manufacturers in the world. It is also notable for its Red and Green travel guides, its roadmaps, the Michelin stars that the Red Guide awards to restaurants for their cooking, and for its company mascot Bibendum, colloquially known as the Michelin Man. He was a great example of timeless advertising and a successful identity campaign. This mascot was created in 1899 from the imagination of the Michelin brothers and with the talents of poster artist Marius Rossilon, (who signed O'Gallop). Now over a century later, the Michelin Man is still the company's primary image.

Michelin's numerous inventions include the removable tire, the "pneurail" (a tire for trains made to run on rails) and the radial tire.

This poster is in great condition and was recently linen backed by a professional conservator.
