About The Poster: The Choubrac brothers' posters always exhibit a little goofiness, wackiness, and just all around silliness that we like and admire. The artists were considered, along with Jules Cheret, to be the pioneers of French poster art and their work made up the first ever exhibition on posters. This poster from the late 19th century, was for an Operetta in a small theater house in the Saint Germain des Pres neighborhood of Paris. Humorous, colorful, and very Art Nouveau, it is stylistically similar to the ones created by the Choubrac brothers. The poster is in excellent condition (A), is linen backed and measures 23.5 x 31.5 inches.
