About The Poster

During WWII, "graphic artists combined their skill with advertising copywriters to sway public opinion and unite people in support of the war effort. The posters’ effectiveness arises from complex designs of words and symbols to communicate, invite action and build consensus." (Source : Australian National Wartime Museum, Patriotism, Persuasion, Prpaganda, American War Posters).

This poster was designed by French artist Henri Lessucq. Born in Bordeaux in 1882, Laussucq was an avid watercolorist and painter. He produced several posters for the war, many of which revolve around the theme "Join France for Ever". Poster in unlined and in good condition.
