About The Poster: A wonderfully graphic poster by a very well known Polish illustrator and poster artist. Born in 1896 in St. Petersburg and died in 1967 in Warsaw, Marian Walentynowicz studied architecture at the Warsaw Politechnic Institute and worked as an illustrator and poster artist - primarily in the 1930s and 40s.

Enlistment posters by their nature needed to capture the attention and enflame the patriotism of potential soldiers. In this piece, the flags of Yugoslavia, Poland, Norway, the Netherlands, Free France, Czechoslavakia and Belgium are united under the sun (and in battle). This poster is in excellent condition and comes to us from an important private collection.
