About The Poster: One of the things about posters produced during the first (and second) World War is the fact that even the most banal and basic messages took on added and poignant importance. There are a myriad of posters available in all languages which implore the populations to conserve tobacco so that the soldiers ('our boys on the front) can have enough tobacco for their cigarettes, or cigars, or pipes... This poster falls within that category. In an upturned soldiers helmet, the message is clear 'use less so they have more'. A small, and well conserved gem. Poster is in excellent condition, mounted in linen and measures 14 x 21 inches.
