About The Poster: The bullring, Plaze de Toros, has been the center of Valencia's bull-fighting for 150 years. The structure is large, impressive, and built in the style of the Roman Coliseum while employing ancient Greek ornamentations such as doric columns. The ring itself only measures 52 meters in diameter but the 4 levels of colonnades and balustrades gives the building its grandeur. When there are no bullfights, Plaza de Toros hosts fairs and concerts. Bullfighting is a traditional spectacle of Spain in which one or more bulls are baited into a ring for sport and entertainment. The tradition, as it is practiced today, involves professional toreros who execute various formal moves which can be interpreted according to the bullfighters style or school. It is often called a blood sport by detractors but supporters claim that the sport is culturally important and a fully developed art form on par with painting, dancing, and music. This poster carries a Spanish taxation stamp, is in very good condition, and measures 14 x 28 inches. It was just professionally linen backed and is in A condition.
