About The Poster: This original lithograph was made in the 1850s by the French artist Charles Vernier (1831-1887) and printed in Paris by Imp. Lemercier. It shows the evolution of the military dress and uniforms of the French cavalry from 1700 (during the reign of Louis XIV/14) to Louis-Philippe the first. There is a particular focus on Paris's specials corps, including the municipal guard, the royal police, and the "Dragons de Paris," which translates to the Dragons of Paris. Impressive stuff! This unlined sheet measures 17 x 12 inches, and would look beautiful framed (not to mention add some Parisian, stylish flair) in any kids room, living room, or even restaurant!
