About The Poster: This original French Art Deco poster advertises a brand of refrigerators called Frigo Sibir. A sneaky polar bear - a clear reference to cold temperatures - raids the fridge and smacks his lips. This, however, is no ordinary fridge, it is an electric refrigerator - a new and hot commodity at the time! The artist, Jean Bachès, cleverly draws attention to this fact by showing the wire protruding from the back of the unit. The poster features the slogan "Si Bons, Si Frais" (So Good, So Fresh) and promotes the brand Sibir as an accessible item for all to obtain by stating, "Sibir, le refrigerateur electrique pour tous" (Sibir, the electric refrigerator for all). Linen backed and in excellent condition. This clever and delightfully Art Deco poster is a sure hit with any poster-lover.
