About The Poster: Richard Avedon, the noted American fashion photographer first met The Beatles in 1965 at the Ad Lib club in London. Two and a half years later Avedon had the opportunity to shoot The Beatles for the US magazine called Look. Avedon took a number of shots of the group in the August 1967 session, four of which were later adorned with psychedelic effects. They were first published in the 9 January 1968 edition of the US magazine Look, and were subsequently sold as posters.
Avedon was a good choice for this shoot as he was best known for his work in the fashion world and for his minimalist portraits. His work for Harper's Bazaar and Vogue was as important to the world of fashion photography as the Beatles were to music.
This poster is a montage of four individual Beatles posters - one each for Harrison, Lennon, McCartney and Starr that has been professionally linen-backed. It is in mint condition.
