Artist: Bernard Villemot
About the artist: Bernard Villemot was a classic French artist who's work for Bally, Orangina, Perrier, Bergasol and countless other brands helped to propel him - and the brands for whom he worked - into world renown companies. In excellent condition, this poster dates from the early 1980s.
About The Poster: This poster is one of many Villemot produced for Perrier. Although small, it is striking: the bright colours are eye-catching, and the blue from the water plays off the vibrant orange beautifully. But this is more than a pretty picture: it is also very thoughtful. Known as the 'Hokusai' of Perrier advertisements, Villemot actually references an old Japanese print called "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (or simply "The Wave") by Katsushika Hokusai, a woodblock print artist from the late 1700s, early 1800s.
