This lovely image was recently purchased in Italy from a collector who is as crazy about old paper and ephemera as I am. He has been known to purchase the archives of both well known and unknown artists and printers... his warehouse is like Paradise Lost, with every nook and cranny full of treasures ... like this one: from the archives of a printer who specialized in the production of games and ephemera for children, a colorful image showing what looks like a child playing postman, another one playing cook, one more playing delivery boy.. a cranky old lady (and wouldn't you be too??) with a parrot... Why they have to tie the pot to the doorbell I'm not quite sure, but it's odd and twisted and it made me smile.
Ready to frame. Perfect for a child's room.
