About The Poster: This poster was created by the Chemin de Fer du Nord (Railway of the North). Les Chemin de Fer du Nord opened in 1845 and ran until 1937 when it was nationalised, becoming a part of the SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer français; "French National Railway Corporation"). This poster, designed by J. Morin, advertises the beaches and coastal beauty of Criel (called Criel-sur-Mer since 1902). Located on the coast of northern France, this was a popular tourist destination due to its close proximity to Paris and spectacular beaches.
