About The Poster: Two wonderful illustrated advertisements for Kenilworth Cigarettes published in the Illustrated London News in 1918 and 1919. The artwork was done by Frederick Pegram, a well-known artist and illustrator who studied alongside the likes of Aubrey Beardsley and Henry Tonks at the Westminster School of Art. During his prolific career as an illustrator he collaborated drawings to important books such as that of the London World Fair of 1898, and many publications, including the Illustrated London News, the Daily Chronicle, and The Idler. He produced many political cartoons for magazines during the First World War. Both ads measure 11.25 x 16 (standard size of the Illustrated London News pages), and are in very good condition considering their age - they are nearly a century old! They would look great framed, as a pair or seperately, and make excellent gifts to any lover of ephemera.
