1800s Canadian Lithograph, Crossing the Rapids - Unknown
Size: Matted to 9 x 12 inches
Note: Lithograph, Small, Matted
About this poster: Early explorers of Canada used Canadian canoe routes to not only discover new land, but also develop the fur trade. Mostly navigable, at times the water was iced over or it was necessary to exit the canoe and carry it (sometimes several kilometers!) around obstacles and waterways. This particular image shows a canoe full of men navigating the river and avoiding rocks while one lies on his side, looking bored.
Recently matted, this engraving is ready to frame and would look great in an office or a living room.
