Severo Pozzati (1895 - 1983), better known by his pseudonym Sepo, was one of the most important Italian poster artists in the world of advertising in the first half of the twentieth century. Initially a sculptor and painter, he began his career designing advertisement posters for the Maga ad agency. He moved to France in 1920 and was hired by Vercasson, Maga's sister company in Paris, who also produced posters by Mauzan and Cappiello. It was only 1923 that he began signing his posters, adopting the pseudonym Sepo, an acronym of his name.
