In France, Quinquina is a collective name for alcoholic bitters (aperitif) having quinine as one of their main ingredients. Quinquina is also known as Peruvian Bark. It originates from South America and was introduced to Europe in the 17th century by Spanish missionaries. Clearly it was held in high esteem as it is guarded by lock and key! As the safe door opens, even the thieves exclaim what a treasure it is!

Eugene Oge (French 1861-1936) was a design master who was well known for his insightful caricatures of people in both high and low places. A retrospective exhibition of all his posters drew a large audience at the Bibliotheque Forney in Paris during the summer of 1998.

This large linen backed poster is in great condition and will look beautiful when framed. Perfect for a kitchen, wine cellar, even a man cave!
