This original retro mid-century modern poster is vintage advertising for the shortbread cookies of an old French company, Sable du Mans. Wikipedia, the source of all arcane cookie-related knowledge, informs us that "the sable was a cookie created for the first time in 1670, in a town called Sablé-sur-Sarthe. The French word sable means "sand": at the beginning of the recipe, the baker rubs cold butter into flour and sugar to form particles of dough resembling sand." The sable is a French shortbread cookie known for its crumbly texture. They hail from Normandy, and according to Martha Stewart, are fantastic dipped in chocolate, sandwiched with jam, or great on their own!

This colourful poster was recently linen-backed and is in excellent condition. Perfect for a kitchen, restaurant, child's room or even a basement that needs a happy colourful poster.
