At a time when letter-writing was still considered to be an art, postcards were also often used as a means of keeping in touch, sending travel tips and advice, and even as a way to collect stamps.
This postcard, very much in the style created and attributed to Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860-1939), is a tribute to many of the touchstones of his Art Nouveau creations: a beautiful (and very pure) woman, flowers and leaves, soft lines, and a border within the work that helps to 'frame' the piece.
Framed in vintage wood with a double mat, this piece would be a lovely gift for a flute player, or music lover.
