About The Poster: A rare and charming poster - actually, this was a book cover - from the earliest days of aviation. By the 1920s, German bookshops and publishers had already recognized the potential of air transport and had begun to set up sales outlets at airports. Publishers increasingly focused on aviation and magazines like IKARUS were created.
IKARUS was published from 1925-1929 and contained poems, stories and reports on air transportation. Well known artists were used to create the magazine covers, and often featured images of far away destinations or people from foreign lands.
Considered rare and collectable, this poster is recently linen backed and in great condition.
