About The Poster: This poster was created by the Chemin de Paris a Orléans to encourage travel and tourism to Mont-Doré. According to a charmingly mangled translation on the travel site of the area, "Next to the Dordogne river springs and near the Puy de Sancy volcano, Le Mont Dore is a big mountain zone village with multiple aspects. Real paradise for hikers during summertime and becomes a ski resort in winter. And as air and water are always clean, Le Mont-Dore is also a famous thermal resort. Come and discover all our treasures !"
Voila! Who could resist such an incredible description?
The poster was designed by Charles Hallo (1884-1969), easily recognizable by his signature "ALO" in the lithographic plate. A prolific artist who created many travel posters, Hallo's style is obvious in the clean lines and refined details in this poster.
Poster is unlined, in overall excellent condition. Pinholes in the corners which will disappear when the piece is framed.
From a private collection.
