About The Poster: A fabulous Art Deco poster by the well known artist Art Deco period artist H. Chauffard. Chauffard was a French illustrator best known for his travel posters promoting tourist destinations in France, both on the Cote d'Azur as well as in the French Alps. This is among his best known posters.
Markstein is described by a French tourist website this way: "At 1260 metres altitude, well integrated in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, the ski resort preserves its natural qualities and runs at full steam during the winter season: many possibilities for alpine skiing are available on 12 slopes from green to black, 8 ski lifts and a slalom stadium that hosted the World Cup events. Other features: its snowshoe trails, its Nordic ski area with 40 km of traced slopes close to the ridge line, as well as a Nordic park, its new attractions such as snowkiting, the upcoming summer/winter sledge slope and, for as far as the eye can see, the view of the highest Vosges peaks and of the Thur and Florival valleys." Voila!
A lovely, very rare poster (we've never had it before), in overall excellent condition.
