This original print was the sixth in a series of nine commissioned by La Presse featuring the historic Place D'Armes. This view from Notre Dame Street looking East, is meant to reflect the way the street would have looked in 1855. The series was paid for by Montreal's Molson Brewery, as much a part of the city as any historic landmark.
La Presse, a Canadian newspaper, was founded in 1884, and as the paper recently went digital, this piece is really quite the find! Matted and ready to frame, we feel it would be a fabulous addition to a chalet or country house and would, of course, be a great souvenir for anyone from (or visiting!) our beautiful city.
