This piece is 1 of 4-panel posters designed to illustrate life in Brazil, circa 1940. Each image represents a scene from Brazilian life and would have been used in American schools to teach children about foreign lands.
From the pamphlet that accompanies the poster: "One of the most interesting and important republics of South America is Brazil. It is the largest country in South America and the fifth largest in the world, even larger than the United States... Agriculture is the main industry in Brazil, and its exports are chiefly agricultural products, the principal ones being coffee, rubber, cocoa, and cotton. The one product of Brazil which outranks all the rest is coffee ..."
This poster is in very good condition, apparent folds.
