He attended Moscow’s Academy of Fine Arts and moved to Paris at 18 years old, where he got involved with the \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBallets Russes. He fought for the French army in World War II and was \u003c\/span\u003elater granted French citizenship. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eTerechkovitch also participated in the Paris Salons, and in 1951 was elected a Knight of the Legion of Honor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the 1950's, he regularly travelled to and worked in Menton, a resort town on the French Riviera. This poster depicts the vivid colour and warm Mediterranean scenery that Menton is known for.
