Signed Antoni (for the Danish artist Ib Antoni 1929-1973), this poster is from an advertising campaign he illustrated for Fiskeri-og Søfartsmuseet, the Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esberj that deals with fishing and shipping. It holds exhibitions on both subjects, as well as a saltwater aquarium (where the family here and a seal room. The museum is one of the 50 most visited tourist attractions in Denmark.
Ib Antoni (1929-1973) was a well known cartoonist, designer and poster artist not only in Denmark but also abroad, where he illustrated the renown Times and Life Magazine in the USA. He created approximately 300 posters in the twenty years of his career. He was commissioned by a wide range of clients such as FDB, Politiken, Carlsberg, Dyrup, Volvo, Danish Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, UNICEF and others. His posters for the Expo reflect his playful, "Naive" style, for which he is known and appreciated.
