He studied at Leicester School of Art until 1932, then moved to London where he began a career as a graphic designer, producing stylised posters and magazine designs for companies such as Shell, Imperial Chemical Industries and British Railways, as well as fabrics for Sanderson. In the 1940s he began a series of paintings with nautical links, a group of which was shown at Waterhouse and Dodd in 1991, providing comparisons with Edward Wadsworth or John Tunnard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThe poster is in good condition, with minor creases around the edges and pinholes in all four corners.
