This poster was produced for an 1978 exhibition of Chagall's work at Palazzo Pitti in Florence, Italy. The Palazzo Pitti is an enormous palace designed by Filippo Brunelleschi in 1457. A crown-jewel of Italian architecture, it was built for the Pitti family but eventually became the primary residence of the Medici family - once the most powerful name in all of Italy. Today, the palace is home to numerous museums, and holds costumes, porcelains, paintings, silverware, and furniture from the sixteenth to the twentieth century.

"Chagall flirted with many radical modernist styles at various points throughout his career, including Cubism, Suprematism and Surrealism, all of which possibly encouraged him to work in an entirely abstract style. Yet he rejected each of them in succession, remaining committed to figurative and narrative art, making him one of the modern period's most prominent exponents of the more traditional approach." This unlined poster is in excellent condition. With its beautifully vivid colors, it would look fantastic in any living room, bedroom, or even office!
