Aimé Maeght was a French art dealer, collector, lithographer and publisher. He founded the Galerie Maeght in Paris (and later opened a second gallery in Barcelona), and created the foundation which bears his name in Saint Paul de Vence, France.
Maeght represented some of the most exceptional artists of the 20th century, including Bonnard, Matisse, Calder, Bracque, Chagall, Giacometti, Miró (whose work is featured in this poster) and Léger. Much of his success as a dealer was attributed to his wife, Marguerite. Foundation Maeght is a privately financed museum in the south of France built in order to exhibit modern and contemporary art in all its forms. Inaugurated in 1964, the museum is an exceptional site that contains one of the most important collections in Europe with paintings, sculptures, and drawings from the 20th century.

This poster was created for an exhibition which featured art collected by the couple during their lifetime. In excellent condition, from a private collection.
