Artist: Rene Peron
As opposed to the American tendency to hire poster artists anonymously for movie advertising, the French film industry intentionally hired recognized poster artists for their marketing. Rene Peron was a renown and prolific poster maker, who produced over two thousand pieces during his career. King Kong premiered in the United States and internationally in 1933, and Peron's poster depicts the iconic tower scene. Although his style is clean and simple, he uses touches of Art Deco aesthetics and bold colours in this stunning poster.
This poster is a 1989 reissue of the 1933 version, and it is in very good condition, with only a small tear at the top margin.
