Images were built up through layers of paint rather than ink, resulting in a poster which more closely resembled a painting than a litho. The printing tradition continues with CartelON, a project devoted to promoting silkscreening in Cuba by organizing graphic design contests where creatives of all ages can be inspired to explore screenprinting.

This poster won first place in a design competition centered around a tribute to the 30th anniversary of Cuba's international film school (Escuela International de Cine y TV - EICTV) during an international Latin American film festival (Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano). Designed by Norberto Molina, whose colourful typography seamlessly integrates a reference to vintage projectors and 3D glasses in its design.
