About The Poster:
Since 1994, the city of St-Denis requests each year, on the occasion of his wishes, an artist to give his vision of Saint-Denis. An original silkscreen is published every year in 200 copies and serves as a ceremonial present for the current year. In 1995, Savignac was chosen to design the St-Denis poster. This fun, colorful, poster would look great in a living room or an office!
Raymond Savignac, often just abbreviated to "Savignac," was a French graphic artist famous for his commercial posters. He was born on November 6, 1907, in Paris, and died on October 31, 2002, in Trouville-sur-mer, aged 94. A humorous simplicity distinguishes his work. Self-taught, he started designing posters under Cassandre. A permanent display of his work can be found in the Montebello Museum in Trouville.
