We found Steve Thomas in cyberspace - a place he evidently knows very well - and loved his posters so much that we asked him if we could sell them, and voila! The perfect partnership. Originally born in Ontario, he now operates out of the U.S. as a freelance illustrator who happens to have a love for vintage poster, propaganda and product art from the early 20th century and an interest in retro-futuristic art.
This particular poster is designed in the style of a vintage travel poster but is actually an ode to the 1972 movie Deliverance (itself based on the book by James Dickey), starring Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds. It is a particularly harrowing tale that sees four men canoeing down a river in the remote north Georgia wilderness when the fictional Cahulawassee River valley is flooded by the construction of a dam. The friends are separated, and the adventure begins...
