This original vintage poster was created to promote an exhibition of Roger Chapelain-Midi's (1904-1992) work at the Galerie Drouant in Paris in 1966. The Drouant Gallery was also the site of the artists' first exhibition in 1930. Chapelain-Midy is known for his painting, printmaking, and theatre set and costume design. In his lifetime, he participated in the Venice Biennale, was awarded the Carnegie Prize, and won the Grand Prix of the city of Paris. His portrait of De Gaulle is in the Palais d'Élysée and his work is in the collection of the French National Museum of Modern Art.
This poster is in very good condition and ready to be framed with minor creases and some scratches in the bottom.
