About The Poster:
This poster was designed to promote the 11th annual World Book and Copyright Day which took place on April 23rd, 2006 and included more than 200 free activities offered by 18 organizations. This 11th edition in Quebec was hosted by Chrystine Brouillet and Dany Lafferiière - both popular Canadian novelists. Established in 1995 by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization), World Book and Copyright day highlights the important work of libraries, book stores, publishers, authors, educational establishments and community centers in promoting literacy and creativity.
In this colourful illustration, an author is shown busy at work and surrounded by books. A rose seems to grow straight out of their brain in reference to the beauty and imagination that stem from creative work.
This poster is in very good condition with some minor folds and age related damage. Tiny holes can be seen where the poster was once stapled or pinned for display.
