About The Poster: Poster for an exhibition of works by Toulouse Lautrec, showing his work "La buveuse" (the drinker) and organized by the Toulouse Lautrec Museum in Albi, France. Albi is the artist's hometown and the museum is dedicated to showcasing Lautrec's oeuvre by organizing exhibitions of his work as well as that of his contemporaries. We have a few other exhibition posters of Lautrec done by this museum. Exhibition posters are a formidable (and affordable) way of bringing the color and energy of Lautrec's work into your home. Limited in the number of editions, they are highly collectible.
"La gueule de bois" (The Hangover), sketch of Suzanne Valadon. She is the model of Edgar Degas, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Pierre Puvis de Chavannes. Accustomed to many "disreputable" bars of Montmartre where the Parisian bourgeoisie was "slumming", Toulouse-Lautrec during this period, made a famous portrait of Valadon, entitled La buveuse (The Drinker).
