About The Poster: The Florence Crafts Fair of 1930 was organized in an effort to help modernize the crafts market by inticing it's use of contemporaneous media such as the press, photography and cinema. It was presided by Mario Salvini, a craftsman and professor who was also the founder of the renowned Bottega, Salvini & Co. ceramics manufacture and director of the Institute of Art of Venice during the 1890's. The poster shows the Florentine coat of arms (left) and glass and ceramic vases, typical crafts which would have been shown at the fair. It is signed G. Dombiant, but no information could be found on this artist. The poster is linen-backed and in very good condition.
