This particular poster was made for Peugeot (now a French car manufacturer, but initially a manufacturer of coffee mills and bicycles). The company first began to produce bicycles in 1882 (with ten Tour de France wins between 1903 and 1983). A century later, they sold the North American rights to the Peugeot bicycle name to ProCycle, a Canadian company which also sold bicycles under the CCM and Velo Sport names.
This simple (but simply perfect!) Peugeot poster is a new favourite because it evokes elegance, strength, and beauty - a fantastic combination for this classic bicycle. Recently professionally linen backed, this poster bears some evidence of it's long life: repaired tears in the margin, minor creasing and small smudges ... many of these small faults will disappear when the poster is framed. A rare, hard-to-find poster and a perfect gift for a cyclist!
