About the poster: 

Constantin Terechkovitch was a Russian watercolorist, tapestry painter, lithographer and poet. He attended Moscow’s Academy of Fine Arts and moved to Paris at 18 years old, where he got involved with the Ballets Russes. He fought for the French army in World War II and was later granted French citizenship. Terechkovitch also participated in the Paris Salons, and in 1951 was elected a Knight of the Legion of Honor.

In the 1950's, he regularly travelled to and worked in Menton, a resort town on the French Riviera. This poster depicts the vivid colour and warm Mediterranean scenery that Menton is known for. It was printed by Mourlot, a renowned French printing house which worked with Georges Braque, Henri Matisse, and Joan Miró.
