Erik Nitsche (1908–1998) was a Swiss graphic designer who was appointed artistic director of General Dynamics in 1955. As artistic director, he "wielded the language of modern design within a corporate context in an effort to redirect public sentiment away from nuclear anxieties and toward a technological future." (Merrill C. Berman Collection)
This poster was issued in different languages in order to represent a global effort towards scientific progress. This version features text in Hindi which reads "Atoms for the benefit of peace."
