About the poster: This is an original theatre advertisement for the Canadian run of the play Biloxi Blues, written by Neil Simon (1927-2018). Simon was one of the most successful American playwrights of the twentieth century, known for his witty, character-driven comedies that dominated Broadway from the 1960s through the 1980s. Some of his most notable works are The Odd Couple, Barefoot in the Park, and Brighton Beach Memoirs. His works often drew from autobiographical experiences and everyday life.

Biloxi Blues (1985) is the second play in Simon’s semi-autobiographical Eugene Trilogy. It follows Eugene Morris Jerome, a young recruit from Brooklyn in basic training during World War II in Biloxi, Mississippi.
