About the poster: Winning poster of the PICASSO CELEBRATION Contest, convened by CartelON Estudio-Taller, with the support of the Cultural Department of the Spanish Embassy in Cuba, in homage to the life and work of this great artist 50 years after his death. CartelON joins the actions that are carried out in 2023 for this reason, from the governments of Spain and France.

About the Artist: Pedro J. Abreu Fernández is a Visual Communication Designer, graduated from the Superior Institute of Design (ISDi) at the University of Havana in 1996. He has worked as a graphic designer for the Havana Biennial at the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center and for the Institute's Youth Film Showcase. of Art and Cinematographic Industry of Cuba, ICAIC designing the visual identity, posters and catalogs of both events respectively. Since 2012 he has been in charge of the graphic identity and posters for theater and events for Antiheroes Project, Miami. He currently resides and works as a graphic designer and photographer in Barcelona, ​​Spain. He has participated in collective poster exhibitions in Japan, the US, Bolivia, Italy, Mexico, Ecuador and Cuba. His poster "Ciclón" 1996 was part of the project El Cartel de Cine Cubano ayer y hoy, ICAIC, Havana. He was selected for the Ghost Posters Project with his poster "Jazz Club", 2006. He has participated with the poster "América Latina Remix cultural" in the Latin American Meeting of Design 2012, Buenos Aires. In 2013 he was a finalist in the poster contest: "World Standards Day" organized by the World Standards Cooperation in Geneva. In 2015 he created the poster and promotional spot for the Cuban Independent Film Festival in Barcelona.
