These Art Deco illustration were made by Ludwig Hohlwein, a German graphic designer whose career began in architecture. He was a prominent artist of plakatstil ("poster style"), a style featuring bold, eye-catching lettering with flat colors.
Each side of this poster includes an illustration for a film: on one side, The Drums of Asia (1921, dir. Uwe Jens Krafft) and on the other, Yama - The Deity of Death (1920, prod. Weiss Blau Film)
