About the Artist: The artist known as PIEM (Pierre Georges Marie de Barrigue de Montvallon) came from a family descended from the nobility of the region of Aix en Provence. He was the son of Serge de Montvallon, director of the Maison de la Chimie, and Madeleine Champavere, he is the brother of Robert de Montvallon. Pierre describes: "I was the child rickety and redhead a family of Aix-en-Provence, the third in a family of five children, destined to live in the shadow of his older brothers so strong and brilliant”.
