About the Artist: Charles Mwenze Mungolo studied at the Academy of Folk Art, where he acquired an appreciation of beauty. After completing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lubumbashi, Congo, Mwenze Mungolo was honoured by having some of his paintings selected for the 1958 exhibition in Brussels. The most noticeable thing in his paintings is perhaps the movement, by which he wants to show the burst and the joy of Congo and Africa.
