The work brings together more than 70 watercolors painted by Robert Charles Goff, accompanied by texts written by his wife, Clarissa Goff.Robert Charles Goff was an Irish engraver and painter specializing in topographical landscapes. After a military career that led him to the rank of colonel, he retired in 1878 to devote himself entirely to art. Recognized for his talent, he was elected a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1887 and went on to pursue an artistic career enriched by numerous travels between London, Brighton, and Florence. In the 1890s, the couple settled in a villa overlooking Florence, where they undertook the creation of this book dedicated to the beauty of Italian cities.
