About The Poster: Original poster for the International Concours Hippique Officiel (CHIO) in Rotterdam. The Swiss graphic designer Hans Falk made this poster for the internationally renowned Dutch showjumping competition.
About the Artist:Â Hans Falk (1918-2002) was one of the most important modern Swiss painters. Born in Zurich, he studied art in his native town as well as in Lucerne. He began working as a poster designer after graduating, and won several awards for his graphic work.
Falke was a versatile artist with a very recognizable own style. He was a painter, draughtsman and graphic designer. Posters were one of his great passions. He also designed a series of posters for the Swiss circus Knie in which his affection for the circus was beautifully manifested.
Later on he travelled extensively, living and working in England, the United-States, Ireland and Italy. Falk passed in 2002, he had a fruitful career that produced a large body of paintings, posters and sought-after graphic designs, and he is one of the most important contemporary Swiss artists.
In overall very good condition, obvious folds, minor frontage on the extreme left-side margin. Very rare. A collector's item.
